ThunderCore’s mission, since we first came online in 2018, has always been to establish a thriving ecosystem that not only empowers developers but also provides a space for innovation and creativity. Now, to continue on our initiative for enhancing ecosystem sustainability and stability, we will move on with our next goal of strengthening community participation, which will aim to update governance parameters for validator nodes.

Our Journey to Enhancing Ecosystem Sustainability and Stability

The journey first officially began with our community vote back in November 2023 in regards to our initiative for enhancing ecosystem sustainability and stability. The approval from the community vote is what led to our recent Athena Hard Fork in May 2024, as well as what’s coming next.

Athena Hard Fork

The Athena Hard Fork is the first pivotal step to enhancing ecosystem sustainability and stability. This upgrade allowed for better efficiency and flexibility, which in turn led to lowering storage costs as well as establishing consistency.

Athena is vital to establishing a sound foundation for us to build off of but that is just our first step for more stability. With upgrades to our frame, we want to continue on this journey for better sustainability and stability by strengthening our dedicated community’s participation.

Governance Parameters for Validator Nodes

The Athena Hard Fork has opened up the ability and possibility for us to tackle our next step. To build on our vision for more sustainability and stability, we will aim towards adopting new governance parameters concerning validator nodes. We are proposing to update new parameters that will empower our community to actively participate in shaping the future of our network. We will be holding a Snapshot vote for the community to decide on this change: link (https://snapshot.org/#/thundercorelabs.eth/proposal/0x58e32746b6f370caa0d9be5fabe4d4e0d5ed7c5dd45a499293a116734cf7d3c5)

Active participation from our community will be key in sustaining this ecosystem for the long term. We have plans for even more ecosystem enhancement and expansion but having a sound foundation comes first.

Update: The proposed vote has been completed as of May 20, 2024 12:00 PM (UTC+8)
Vote Result: Yes
Vote Summary: To ensure sustainability and stability within our ecosystem and to empower the community to actively participate in shaping the future of the ThunderCore network, we propose to adopt the following requirements and protocol parameters. Validator Qualifications: Professional institutions, Minimum Bidder Stake: 10^5 TT, Base Fee: 100 gwei, Burn Base Fee: Yes, Block, Reward: 45 TT, Validator Reward Ratio: 30%
