On July 31st, 2026, both Upbit and Bithumb Exchange issued notices designating TT as a cautionary asset. We were not notified in advance but will be looking to work with both exchanges on resolving the issue, as we value and believe in these partnerships.
Our Immediate Response
We are treating this as our highest priority. We will communicate with both exchanges to understand the basis for the designation and work to resolve it.
ThunderCore Network Remains Unaffected
The network itself is unaffected. ThunderCore continues to produce blocks normally, validators are operating as expected, and no protocol-level issue has been identified. This is an exchange asset-status matter, not a network matter.
What We Know
Here is the current state of our information:
- What was announced: Both exchanges have designated TT as a cautionary asset.
- What it changes right now: Depositing has been halted, and withdrawals are normal
- Review timeline: Both exchanges have indicated a review period ending on a date between August 10th and 14th, at which point the designation may be lifted, extended, or escalated.
Broader Regulatory and Market Context
Some things are worth noting.
The regulatory environment in Korea has tightened considerably. Since the Virtual Asset User Protection Act took effect, Korean exchanges have operated under materially stricter listing-maintenance obligations. Exchanges have correspondingly raised the frequency and stringency of their periodic reviews across the board. A larger number of assets have been designated over the past several quarters than in prior years, including well-established projects.
Market conditions have been difficult sector-wide. Liquidity, volume, and volatility metrics across the industry are materially different from twelve months ago, and several of the metrics exchanges monitor are sensitive to those conditions.
These factors describe the environment in which the review took place. They are not a claim about why our token specifically was designated. We are still working out the specifics of the sudden notices.
We were not informed ahead of the public notices. We say this as a matter of fact, not as an accusation. We will be seeking to work with both teams on resolving the current situation as we’ve always done in the past.
On Future Updates
Once we have more information to share, we will update the community on where we stand.
