Community Proposal: Future Direction of TT and ThunderCore Mainnet

To the ThunderCore community, developers, node operators, and TT holders:

Following the recent decisions by Upbit and Bithumb to end trading support for TT, the operating environment for ThunderCore and TT has materially changed.

These changes were driven by the exchanges’ decisions on trading support, rather than by any known protocol-level security incident or failure of ThunderCore mainnet operations.

ThunderCore mainnet continues to operate normally. However, maintaining an independent Layer 1 requires ongoing resources across network infrastructure, the block explorer, cross-chain services, security, development, and ecosystem support.

Given these changed conditions, we believe it is appropriate to reassess whether continuing to allocate resources in the same way remains the best approach for supporting TT and its users over the long term. We believe this question should be considered together with our community.

The Direction Under Consideration

The proposed direction is to redirect resources from maintaining full mainnet operations toward supporting the continuity of TT directly.

If approved, this direction would include migrating TT to another EVM-compatible network such as BNB Smart Chain (BSC), given its broad wallet, tooling, and infrastructure support. TT on ThunderCore mainnet would be migrated through the migration process.

The proposed direction would terminate future TT issuance and cap the maximum total supply. TT would continue as an asset while ThunderCore mainnet enters an orderly wind-down.

Approval of this proposal would not immediately stop mainnet operations. Migration timing and user procedures would be announced separately.
